Paul Attardo
Mr. Attardo returned to Maine and became principal of a design/ build firm where he worked on several residential Maine waterfront design projects. In 1986 he joined Stephen Blatt Architects where he was involved in a wide variety of projects including renovations in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, Massachusetts; Lower Falls Landing for marine and retail use in Yarmouth, Maine; Bridgton Town Hall, Bridgton, Maine; and Buckfield Jr./ Sr. High School, Buckfield, Maine. In 1988, Mr. Attardo joined Van Dam & Renner Architects as a project architect. Significant projects included The Museum at Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine; renovations to the Claremont Hotel in Southwest Harbor, Maine; Maine College of Art, renovations of the former Porteous, Mitchell & Braun building into studio art space, ICA Gallery and Library in Portland; Burbank Library in Portland; Coastal Studies Center, Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine; Waynflete Cafe in Portland; and many significant residences. Mr. Attardo is currently a facilitator for the Center for Grieving Children and was invited to attend the first America's Camp for family victims of September 11th. He also contributes consulting time to various city organizations addressing historic preservation and future planning.
