Renovation and Addition

Originally constructed in 1906, we designed two separate renovation and addition projects. The first project addressed the attic,

Before Addition

which is a full height third story and had not been touched since it was originally built. The third floor was completely reconstructed to include family living spaces, computer work area, games room, and kitchen and bath for overlapping guest room use. The second project involved the complete renovation of kitchen and family living areas on the first floor, connected to a new family dining addition. Both projects were linked by the reconstruction of an existing second stairway. Materials include Minnesota granite, re-sawn antique southern yellow pine floors, and Pennsylvania cherry. The stone facing on the lower portion of the dining room is from split puddingstone boulders to match the original house. Robert A. Lawrence, Builders, Westwood, Massachusetts was the general contractor. Glow Interiors by Design, Carlisle, Massachusetts selected the furnishings and worked on the interior finishes.
